Hello Tomorrow

I am happy to report that Avon makes an effort to be environmentally aware.  I see more and more businesses doing so, but there are many that still do not.

Avon is promoting 5 R's (not just 3!!) and they are -
Reduce
Reuse
Recycle

(... you know the Jack Johnson song?  it will be stuck in your head forever.  check it out HERE.  your welcome.)

Rethink
Replant
you like those extra 2?  I say, sure why not?

Avon has created HELLO Green Tomorrow ... and look what they have.

  • 100% recycled aluminum
  • BPA free.
  • 100% profits ($4.87/bottle sold) are contributed to this fund to plant trees in critically endangered forests of South America and Indonesia ... why there?  I have not done my homework on that part, but more trees anywhere is a good thing, no?
  • Promo ends 12/31/11
ok so its JUST a water bottle.  no biggie.
BUT, we all have/need a reusable water bottle, right?  might as well try out this one and help plant a tree! :)

Celebrity Status

Avon has many celebrity endorsements.
Like with any product, a famous face helps sell the product.

You will see these extremely good looking people in the brochures selling their latest fragrances, (like Patrick Dempsey and Fergie), but the biggest face associated with Avon is
Reese Witherspoon.

Reese is Avon's Global Ambassador, serving as honorary chairman for the Avon Foundation.

The Avon Foundation advocated for:
Breast Cancer Awareness
Domestic Violence Awareness
and
Emergency Disaster Relief Funding

to get involved is not just for celebrities.
Avon is The Company for Women, and that means you too!

shop to donate to a cause -

you can get involved in a fundraising event near you
find them on facebook
join the mailing list

if you'd like to help, no amount is too small - wether its your money or your time.

Reese also has a fragrance called: In Bloom
my review on it - I love it.

She is currently coming out with a trio of scents in a collection called:
Expressions
Love to the Fullest - floral oriental
Laugh Often - citrus tea
Live Without Regrets - fruity & floral ... which has yet to make its debut

and to top off how awesome Reese is, she does THIS.
she is beautiful & smart! way to go!!

its all GOOD

I was doing some Avon research and came across THIS.  I agree with the Good, but definitely not the Bad.

** Let me just remind you - this blog is from me without any kind of influence from Avon **

Over the years, I have come to somewhat agree with the statement "you get what you pay for."  For instance, when my kids buy a toy at the $1 Store, I don't expect that toy to make it through the week, possibly even the day.  Hey it's a $1, what can you REALLY expect, right?

Avon (like all companies) has their target audience, and the usual market are those of us who shop Walmart/Target/Rite-Aide/Walgreens and the like for our makeup needs.  It is the price-point Avon competes with, but if you have tried Avon, you know that the quality is a step up from those other brands.  To me, Cover Girl/Maybeline/Revlon are all the same.  I don't notice a difference between any of them, but with Avon, I do ... which is part of the reason why I started selling it.

  • Along with the product being of higher quality, you have a Representative to personally service you.  Now if you need something RIGHT NOW, then you will have to go to your local drugstore.  ( It happens, even to me as a Rep.  tsk tsk. )
  • If you have a few days, then order online.  Ask your Rep for an online code for FREE shipping; there is ALWAYS a code.
  • Or if you can wait and are not in a rush, order from an actual Rep.  It is their job to service you and your Avon needs.  Your order will be hand delivered, when its convienient for you.  You will receive samples and the next campaign brochure too.
  • If you don't have an Avon Rep who is really interested in what you need, my suggestion, get a new one!!  Avon Rep's are everywhere and the one you have should be thankful you keep coming back to her/him.
Sure we'll make mistakes.  We are all human.
However, I would have never guessed Avon Representatives have a reputation of making mistakes and being inconsistent.  With every Rep I have met, I would not describe them this way.  This is a business, and every Rep ought to treat it as such.  Again, if they don't, get a new one!

As a Rep myself, I have not had any issues working with corporate.  I've had to return items, and had no problems.  I was even able to return an item that was sold from some other Rep (who was no longer in the area); I had no problem.  Avon even has a hotline to call whenever you have questions; for the Rep & for the client.  They have worked with me on every issues I've had.  I have no complaints.

And to begin selling, it does only cost $10.
$10 to start your own business!  Works for me.
Avon is set up in such a way, that it is what you make it.  If you can invest full-time hours into it, then the numbers will show.  If you can only "work" part-time, you won't make as much.  Its simple, and really, anyone with internet access can do it.  If you have questions on how to begin, just ask.

In conclusion -
BOO on this review from Money Making Ideas.  You guys do not have your facts straight.

What has been your experience with Avon?
